About Dr. Heber Avitia

 

Born in Mexico, Dr. Heber has always shown interest since an early age in caring for others. He exceled during medical school and specialized training. He has attended over a dozen national and international conferences, including the renowned AAOS annual meeting and continues to build his resume with several postgraduate programs including:

 

  • • Arthroscopy and Sports injuries – National Institute of Rehabilitation, Mexico City 2017
  • • Joint replacement, Hip & Knee – National Institute of Rehabilitation, Mexico City 2017
  • • Shoulder Arthroscopic treatment course – Arthrex. Mexico City 2016
  • • Knee Arthroscopic treatment course – Smith and Nephew. Mexico City 2016
  • • Hand and microsurgery course and practice – Mexicali General Hospital 2016

 

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Heber enjoys the company of friends and family and has an important role in his community. An avid sports fan, he also finds time for surfing at Ensenada's unique coastal spots during his spare time.

His private practice is located in Velmar Hospital (Ensenada BC, Mexico), but also performs surgeries in a number of hospitals, both private and public (The General Hospital of Ensenada and The Federal Institution "ISSSTECALI").
