Otoplasty

Also known as ear surgery, an otoplasty is a safe procedure used to change the shape, size or position of the ears to improve the appearance or correct a condition. This is a same day procedure. An Otoplasty is done to reshape the ears depending on the patient health and condition. Doctors may use local or general anesthesia.

There are many techniques to perform an otoplasty, the surgeon will use the most appropriate for the patient based on the type of correction. A series of small incisions are made on the back or inner creases of the ear, then cartilage and skin are removed or rearranged as needed. The result is a natural-looking ear.
